Music Theory With Chord Prism

In this 3 part course, Frenic introduces us to Chord Prism which is an intuitive music theory plug-in. You can use the plug-in to create chord progressions using a host of options then compose melodies and basslines that interact with your chord choices. This course will give you an introduction to some of the best features and get you quickly creating your own compositions.

Part 1 Introduction

In part 1 you will be introduced to the plug in and how it can help you to compose music of your own. You will understand how this can be used as a songwriting tool and a source of inspiration. You will think about how experimentations can lead to inspiration. You will learn how Chord Prism can help you write better melodies and basslines. We will also touch on some music theory as you get an overview of the plug-ins features.

Part 2 Chord Generator

In part 2 you will learn how to use the Chord Prisms Chord Generator. You will learn how to select different keys and scales. You will be shown how to edit these to create your own custom chord progressions that can be played with ease encouraging you to jam and find the perfect tone for your track or genre. You will learn how to use Chord Prism’s excellent selection of preset chord banks and how to edit things like chord voicing and velocity maps.

Part 3 Smart Scale/Multi Arp

In Part 3 you will learn the most powerful element of Chord Prism the Smart Scale/Multi Arp. Essentially the Smart scale follows the chords you have created using the chord generator. So even with minimal keyboard skills or music theory knowledge you can easily create intricate melodies and basslines.
