In this 3 part course, Nurve, demonstrates wavetable synthesis and how to use it with native Ableton plugin called, Wavetable. Wavetable is a synthesizer and was introduced to Ableton live when they released version 10. The Wavetable is capable of creating any sound for any genre and style of music from pads, fx, mid-range basses, percussive elements, sub basses, you name it, it can assist you with creating it. This synth is very intuitive and easy on the eye and everything is where it should be. From 2 envelopes to help sculpt your sound, LFOs that can give your sound regular movement or syncopated movement right through to the matrix, which gives you the flexibility to really turn sounds on their head, assign one parameter to another and give the wavetables life and character. There is a wide range of wavetable sound banks to choose from which all consist of a variety of wavetables with very animated timbres and endless possibilities once you begin to process them. Some of the sound banks when selected allow you to apply FM and various other synthesis settings.
Just incase you are not familiar with wavetable synthesis: Wavetables are created by having lots of tiny little indexed waveforms laid consecutively one after another to make up the wavetable . A wavetable synthesizer will allow you to scroll through the wavetable position so that you can find the right timbre and tone that you are looking for. You can also automate the wavetable position via an envelope or LFO to really bring the wavetable to life.
