In this course, Guzi demonstrates his technique for creating unique, interesting atmospheric soundscapes.
In parts 1-4, Guzi uses a range of synths and effects to create multiple atmospheric sounds.
First of all, Guzi creates a simple single-oscillator patch in Serum utilising the built in FX section, applying a large amount of reverb as well as a delay and a filter.
He then creates a similarly simple patch within NI Massive, once again relying on the FX within the synth itself. He also takes advantage of the frequency shifter to add some movement to the sound.
In part 3, Guzi uses Ableton’s operator in combination with the grain delay audio effect to create a patch which sounds a lot more complex than it actually is. The grain delay is set up in a way that it adds harmonious sparkles to the patch.
The final patch that Guzi makes in this course uses Ableton’s wavetable synth. This is another simple patch to set up so to take it a bit further, Guzi resamples a chord from this patch and puts it into Ableton’s sampler, before using the max for live LFO to give the sound lots of variation.
In part 5 of the course, Guzi brings all of the previously created sounds together in order to record and resample them as one single soundscape file.
All of the sounds and patches featured in this course are available via E&B sounds.
